In converting websites, - I will answer.
We can often hear from freelancers ‘I build landing pages that really sell!’ We build websites with high conversion rate! – often say web agencies. But if we will have a look at the analytics we will see that it’s not so. And here is a point when you see that you could earn more
Most websites look the sameor too twisted. That’s why in the first and second cases they do not inspire confidence. Your website should be a dating platform between client’s needs and his desires, where they should meet and a result we should get from it successful purchase.
Lets start our work on most common mistakes.
1. Lots of unnecessary elements
One of the most common mistake in those bad converting is website that was designed on the principles of ‘attention at any cost’. It does not matter that user's attention will be meaninglessly flying around the website. There are lots of multicolored ‘press me’ banners, promotional offers etc.
Your site should lead the client's view and focus it on key information and of course call to action. Just take his hand and show right direction to focus his attention on the main thing.
2. Spy websites
How to recognize it? Confidentiality issues such websites.
When you just open a website and you don’t know anything about it, but you have to do some actions:
- Enter personal information;
- terms of privacy / company policy;
- fill in an application;
- tell about yourself.
They want to know everything about you. Those websites just gathering information. It’s good only for statistical and social research services. But you need to sell. So drop all unnecessary fields in your forms, get rid of the long list of questions. You can get information about the rest with subsequent contacts with the user.
3. Kickass websites
Want to know about us? Then hold on! *Press pause*. At this point, from all parts of the screen begins to climb a clogging pile of information. They want to tell everything at once. And it does not matter whether you catch the whole thing or not. Let the multicolored buttons flash around, chats, sales, call to action buttons everywhere. We are gathering leads, yeah. And it's even better to tell not only about one product, but about everything at the same time.
4. Website without clear goal
Visitor will not wait. He doesn’t like it. And if so, he will move mouse to the top and click on cross to close a website. Neither the "buy" button, nor the feedback form, nor even the phone number. Wants to buy - let him search, how to contact: he will appreciate more. Are you on the "About the Company" page? Usually visitors do not visit it at all, there's nothing to do there. This page is read only by the copywriter, when he write the text, so there is no need in buttons.
The lack of an order button is another symptom of bad converting websites that we've met.
And if the customer has not yet decided on the service? It’s even better: you do not need to give him hints, buttons and links to other pages. Let him understand how everything is arranged here. He should think with his head and not rely on help.
5. All or nothing
A lot of text without sense is the main feature of such websites. The purpose of such visualization is to attract attention of visitor and stop him. To avoid such mistake, put content on a gif image, highlight the main points, create a text structure and make short lines.
It’s important to understand that if you don’t have online presence, you’re nowhere. And if your online presence is just like above-mentioned websites, it not good as well. Therefore, do not close your eyes on the significance of the quality of website. After all, the website is your key to sales without your participation.
